Gaming is the only niche whose median creator sits above nano tier; every other niche median lands on the nano figure.
What the index says about this line
Whitelisting is 30% of the video fee, slightly more than the 25% a 3 month paid usage licence costs, and you usually need both: whitelisting is the placement, usage is the right to spend. At nano tier, where 78% of the creators in our index sit, that pair adds $45 and $40 to a $150 video. If you want the audience as well as the content, the TikTok segments whose median runs above their niche, such as TikTok beauty and TikTok parenting, are where the fee borrows the most reach.
What moves the price
Account access mechanics
Spark Ads codes and partnership ad permissions are the clean way to do this, and both are time limited. Agree the access window alongside the usage term, because an expired code stops a working campaign without warning.
Comment management
Ads from a creator's handle collect comments the creator will see. Agree who moderates and who responds. Creators price this in when it is left unstated, because the default assumption is that they will be handling your customer service.
Overlap with usage
Whitelisting and paid usage are separate lines and you usually need both. Whitelisting grants the placement; paid usage grants the right to spend against the content. Buying one and assuming the other is a common and expensive mistake.
Briefing and negotiating it
State whitelisting explicitly, name the mechanism, Spark Ads code or partnership ad permission, and name the access window in days. Say who moderates comments and who owns the leads. Then name the paid usage term separately. A whitelisting brief that does not also specify the usage term is incomplete.
Ask for a shorter access window rather than a lower rate. A 60 day code costs a creator less peace of mind than a 12 month one, and for most tests 60 days is all you need. If a creator declines whitelisting entirely, do not push: buy the video plus paid usage and run it from your own account, which is most of the value at a lower total.
