TikTok UGC agency: what to check first
TikTok-specific UGC work has requirements the generic version does not: Spark Ads authorisation, native pacing, sound rights and a creator supply that actually posts on TikTok. 92 of the 128 companies in this directory name TikTok on the pages we read. Here is what to check before you sign one.
What genuinely differs on TikTok
Format first. TikTok rewards a spoken hook inside the first second, visible motion, on-screen text that survives a muted autoplay, and an edit that looks unproduced. An agency that hands you a polished 30-second spot has made an Instagram asset with a TikTok aspect ratio, and the ad account will tell you so within a day.
Then authorisation. Spark Ads run a creator's organic post as your ad, which keeps the native look and the creator's handle, and requires an authorisation code from the creator's own account with a set duration. That is an operational step with a deadline, not a contract clause. Ask how the agency collects codes, what duration it requests as standard, and what happens when a code expires mid-flight.
Then sound. A trending track that made an organic post work is usually not licensed for paid use. Agencies that are fluent here brief around a commercial-use library or original audio from the start, rather than delivering an asset you cannot promote.
Check the creator supply, specifically on TikTok
Plenty of vendors describe a creator network without saying which platform those creators actually post on. The question to ask is narrow: how many of your creators have posted on TikTok in the last thirty days, in my category, in my market. A roster built for Instagram will produce TikTok-shaped files from creators whose instincts are Instagram, and the difference is visible.
Ask about the tail as well as the roster. TikTok performance is driven by variant volume, so the practical requirement is a supply that can produce ten to twenty distinct hooks a month without recycling the same three faces. Vendors with a small pool and a large output are re-using creators, which is fine until your audience notices.
If your brief includes a specific market, get the country breakdown before the contract. Creator supply concentrates heavily by country on TikTok, and a vendor strong in the United States can be thin in Germany or the Gulf without ever saying so.
Doing TikTok UGC without an agency
The workflow is well understood at this point: find creators who already post the format natively, check recent posts rather than follower counts, brief three to five hooks per product, collect Spark Ads codes at delivery, and test variants rather than assets. The hard part is the first step at volume, which is exactly what we built.
Our free TikTok creator finder runs a first-pass search on public TikTok profiles, and the fit score calculator applies consistent screening rules so the shortlist does not depend on who looked at it. If those two steps plus direct outreach cover your bottleneck, an agency is optional. If you need finished video managed end to end on a deadline, it is not.

Questions this page gets asked
What is a TikTok UGC agency?
An agency that sources TikTok-native creators, briefs content in TikTok's format conventions, and manages the platform-specific steps like Spark Ads authorisation and commercial sound. The good ones are fluent in the ad account, not just in production.
Do I need Spark Ads for UGC on TikTok?
Not always, but it usually performs better than uploading the same file as a standard ad, because the post keeps its native context and the creator's handle. It requires an authorisation code from the creator with a stated duration, so build that into the delivery checklist.
How many TikTok videos does a test need?
Think in hooks rather than videos. Most teams need eight to twelve distinct openings against one product before performance separates, which makes cost per variant the number that matters when comparing vendors.
Can I use trending sounds in a TikTok ad?
Usually not. Most trending tracks are licensed for organic use only, so paid usage needs commercial-use audio or original sound. Confirm the audio plan at brief stage, because discovering it at delivery costs you the asset.
