UGC volume accounts vs creators' own accounts: what each delivered

Whether to run UGC on accounts made for the brand or on creators' own accounts, and how to pay for it, measured on 1,788 accounts in 46 real brand programs.

What do UGC accounts actually deliver?

We tracked 1,788 accounts posting 11,849 videos for 46 brand creator programs (1 August 2026 to 30 October 2026). Accounts made for the brand delivered a median 4.7x the views per month of creators' own accounts, because they posted about 4x as often. Per video, creators' own accounts were more likely to break out: 14% of their videos hit 10x the brand's typical views, against 5%.

  • A tenth of accounts carry most programs. In the 13 programs with 50 or more accounts, the top 10% of accounts brought in a median 76% of the views. 12 of the 13 were above half.
  • Accounts made for the brand deliver more per month, a median 4.7x in the 8 programs that ran both at scale.
  • Creators' own accounts break out more per video. They led in 6 of 8 programs, and the rate across all programs was 14% vs 5%.

Accounts made for the brand deliver more per month

These are the programs with 5+ accounts of each kind and 100+ videos. Output is in "typical videos": an account's views divided by its brand's median video.

Cantina6.83.717.311.11.6x

The median ratio is 4.7x for typical videos per month and about 4x for videos posted per month. Without the 100-video cut it's 15 programs, and made-for-brand accounts delivered more per month in 13.

Creators' own accounts led in 6 of 8 programs. On the median video the two are close: made-for-brand accounts scored about 1.2x the own-account median, and own accounts were ahead in 3 of 8. Across all 46 programs, 14% of own-account videos hit 10x, against 5% of made-for-brand videos. The short answer is on creator account or brand account.

Volume programs vs creator-led programs

A volume program is one where 50%+ of its videos come from accounts made for the brand.

Median program, volume against creator-led
Median programVolume (12 programs)Creator-led (34 programs)
Videos per account per month1.60.7
Share of videos that hit 10x7.5%11.6%
Accounts with at least one 10x video25%18%
Median account followers~1,200~2,500

What about clipping?

Clipping campaigns and Content Rewards-style marketplaces pay many accounts per view. In the programs we track, only 7 of 1,788 accounts are clip pages (clip, clips, clipper or clipping in the name or bio), with 52 videos. We therefore make no claims about clipping performance, view quality or fraud.

The skew above applies to any pay model. When most views come from a small share of accounts, per-video pay carries the cost of videos that never move, and per-view pay shifts it onto the account.

Method

  • Universe: the same as the video benchmarks. That's 46 fully scanned programs, with brand videos from 1 August 2026 to each program's measured date (latest 30 October 2026), from confirmed or likely accounts, with a public view count, in programs with 15+ videos.
  • Account made for the brand: the scan's flag for an account that posts mostly or only one brand's videos.
  • Typical videos: the sum of an account's videos' views divided by the program's median views. Per month = the window in days / 30.44.
  • Top-10% share: the top 10% of accounts, rounded up, by typical videos. Shown for programs with 50+ accounts only, because in small programs it reduces to one account.
  • Comparison programs: 5+ accounts of each kind and 100+ videos (8 programs).
  • Clip pages: clip, clips, clipper or clipping in the handle, display name or bio.
  • Privacy: accounts are hashed during analysis. No handles are published. Programs without a public page are not named.

Programs in the tables: Poppi, Celsius, Wispr Flow, Bubble Skincare, StudyFetch, Bloom Nutrition, OLIPOP, Alani Nu, Cantina, Dr. Squatch, Rise Science, Anara, e.l.f. Cosmetics and Turbo AI.

Limits

  • No pay data. No cost per view.
  • Public view counts. View quality isn't verified.
  • The "made for the brand" flag is heuristic. Some fan and ambassador pages are included.
  • Small comparison. It covers 8 programs, mostly consumer apps and DTC on TikTok.
  • Correlation, not experiments.
