The floor exists because the work does not shrink with the audience. Filming, editing and posting take the same effort at 2,000 followers as at 50,000, and any model that ignores that produces figures no creator will accept. This is the band where a production based UGC rate is usually the more honest structure for both sides.

2026 planning estimates from our calculator model and public rate cards. Priced at each platform typical engagement rate with organic use only, no exclusivity and a tier-one market. Change any of those and the figure moves; the influencer rate calculator runs the same engine with every input exposed.

Why nano rates hold up
Engagement rates are typically at their highest here, and our engine rewards that: the rate scales toward the ratio of a creator's engagement against a platform typical of 2.5% on Instagram and 5% on TikTok. A nano account at double the typical rate can price above accounts several times its size, which is usually correct rather than a modelling artefact.
The trade is reach. A nano post reaches a small number of people, so the case for buying one is community fit rather than volume, or volume assembled from many of them. Ten nano posts at $60 each is a legitimate structure and often outperforms one mid tier post at $700.
Where nano creators fit in UGC
This is where the UGC market actually lives. Our index holds 24,032 UGC-qualified creators with a median of about 1,400 followers, which is well inside the nano band. A brand buying production rather than reach has enormous supply here, and our UGC model prices a 15 to 30 second video at nano tier at $150 typical, band $100 to $250.
That figure is for the content alone. Rights are separate and, at this tier, a meaningful share of the total: 3 months of paid usage is $40 per video, 12 months is $150, whitelisting is $45. A brand that needs a year of paid rights on a nano video is looking at roughly double the production fee.
Gifting, and when it stops working
Product for content is common at this level and can be reasonable when the product has real value and the ask is small. It stops being reasonable the moment you want paid usage, whitelisting or exclusivity, because those are commercial rights and a free sample does not buy them. If you plan to run the content as an ad, pay for it.
The cleanest arrangement at nano level is a small production fee plus a short usage term, written down. It costs little more than a gifting programme, it gets you a licence you can actually rely on, and it produces creators who reply the second time you get in touch.
Running a nano programme without drowning in admin
Nano campaigns work on volume, and volume at this size means the admin is the constraint rather than the budget. Twenty deals at the nano figure costs less than one mid tier post and takes twenty times the coordination, so the programme lives or dies on process: one brief, one deadline, one set of rights, one contract template, one payment run.
Resist the urge to customise per creator. The value of the band is that you can test twenty variants of the same brief cheaply, and every bespoke arrangement removes that. Then track results by creator rather than in aggregate, because in a group of twenty nano creators a small number will meaningfully outperform, and finding them is the entire point of running the programme at this size.
Questions people ask
How much do nano influencers charge?
Our engine puts a 5,000 follower Instagram post at $60 typical and a TikTok video at $60, with a rate floor applied so very small accounts are not priced at almost nothing.
Can I pay nano creators in product?
Sometimes for a simple organic post, never for paid usage, whitelisting or exclusivity. Those are commercial rights and need a fee: 3 months of paid usage is $40 per video at nano tier in our UGC model.
Is it better to book one mid tier creator or ten nano ones?
For creative volume, ten nano creators. Our UGC model puts a nano video at $150 typical, so ten of them buys ten concepts and ten faces to test.
